Your device donation can support survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking in our communities.
Cleveland Rape Crisis Center is proud to partner with the 911 Cell Phone Bank on an initiative to repurpose donated devices (in any condition) into phones for survivors in our community.
The 911CPB provides a 100% free service to individuals, businesses, and agencies across the country to securely recycle electronic devices that are no longer needed. Devices are securely data-erased and then donated to law enforcement and victims’ agencies to distribute to victims of human trafficking and domestic violence.

IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO DO WITH MY DEVICE BEFORE DONATING IT?
- APPLE DEVICES: If you own an Apple product, you will need to disable the activation lock feature on your device before sending it in for donation. Simply sign out of your iCloud before factory resetting it. You can do this by going to Settings > Apple ID > Sign Out. After that, Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
- ANDROID DEVICES: Turn off the phone and then press and hold the Volume Up key and Power key simultaneously until the Android system recovery screen appears. Use the Volume Down key to highlight the “wipe data/factory reset” option and then use the Power button to make the selection.
DO YOU ACCEPT SEVERELY CRACKED OR BROKEN DEVICES?
Yes! If the device still works, we may either replace the screen or use it for parts on another device.
CAN I DONATE THE PHONE IF IT DOES NOT HAVE BATTERIES OR A BACK COVER?
Yes! Secure it to the device with clear packing tape for safe travel.
IS MY DONATION TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?
Yes! All donations are tax-deductible, and a donation certificate will be provided to you.
WHAT KIND OF DEVICES WILL YOU ACCEPT?
- We accept devices that are in working or non-working/broken condition. Accepted electronics include (but are not limited to):
- Cell phones, smartphones, and Blackberrys from all carriers and manufacturers.
- Laptop computers.
- Tablets.
- Cameras.
- Digital media players such as mp3, DVD and CD players, voice recorders, etc.
- Portable video game systems.
- Smart watches.
- Memory storage devices such as SD cards and external memory storage devices.
- Electronic accessories such as chargers, headsets, earphones, and rechargeable batteries.
- Pin pad devices.
HOW DO CLIENTS QUALIFY TO RECIEVE A PHONE?
If a client engaged with CRCC services is eligible for a 911 Cell Phone Bank device, their provider will speak to them about the program.
