April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). Cleveland Rape Crisis Center’s theme for SAAM 2026 is Breaking Barriers, Building Safety.

1. Wear Teal on April 7 and post a photo on social media. (Tag @clevelandrcc!)

2. Help raise awareness using resources in our SAAM 2026 Toolkit.

3. Attend an event:

April 3, 10 AM – 12 PM: Ashtabula Area Child Advocacy Center Open House
April 6 & 13: Ambassador Trainings (Virtual)
April 8, 10 AM – 1 PM: Lakeland Community College’s Health & Wellness Fair (Lake County)
April 10, 10 AM – 2 PM: Living Legacy: Minority Health Fair (Cleveland)
April 16, 4-7 PM: Jeni’s Ice Cream Fundraiser. A portion of proceeds donated to CRCC. (Chagrin Falls)
April 18: Every Body Cycle Benefit Ride – Details coming soon! (Lakewood)
April 19, 1 – 4 PM: Bellefaire SAY (Social Advocates for Youth) Program Volunteer Fair (Shaker Heights)
April 21 & 22, 10 AM – 2 PM: Tri-C Western Campus Wellness Fest (Parma)
April 22 & 29: Ambassador Trainings (Virtual)
April 23: Rowley Inn Fundraiser.10% of proceeds will be donated to CRCC. (Cleveland)
April 28, 4:30 – 7 PM: Stewards of Children Prevention Training. (Cleveland)
April 30, 7-9 PM: Rule 11 & The Sanctions Benefit Concert for CRCC (University Heights)

Print and hang a SAAM 2026 poster in your classroom or office.
Businesses: Raise funds during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Request an education program for your school, place of worship, or organization.
Use a SAAM background in virtual meetings. (Background 1, Background 2, & instructions)
