Cuyahoga County SART Conference Presenter Application
You are invited to submit a proposal to present a plenary or workshop session at the 2023 Virtual Cuyahoga County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Conference. The conference will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 on Zoom.
This year’s focus will be on supporting those impacted by sextortion.
Sextortion refers to threatening to expose images or video of someone against their will as a form of blackmail to control and manipulate them. Sextortion is often used to coerce victims for sexual, personal, or financial gain.
Topics of special interest include:
- How to identify sextortion
- Talking with youth about sextortion
- Acute responses to sextortion (in advocacy, health care, law enforcement)
- Prosecution of cases involving sextortion
- Internet safety as a method to combat sextortion
The target audiences are medical professionals, law enforcement, prosecution, K-12 schools, and other survivor-serving organizations.
