Victim Advocate
What is your role at CRCC, and what do you do?
I am a victim advocate for cases associated with the Cleveland Police Department. I receive police reports and call survivors and inform them of our services. I attend detective meetings, prosecutor meetings, and all court proceedings. I assist with impact statements. I am the survivor’s voice when they can’t find it. I ensure that survivors’ rights aren’t being violated. I also teach classes to inmates regarding mental health and substance abuse, and how it correlates with PTSD.
When did you start at CRCC?
I started in January 2017.
Which CRCC location(s) do you normally work from?
I normally work from our office at CPD’s Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit at the Justice Center.
What do you do outside of your work for fun?
I have enjoy spending time with my 5 year old daughter, as well as reading and writing.
