Shaker Square Office Location

CRCC Advocates:

Shaker Square Office

I’m pleased to report that today is move-in day at our newest office location on Shaker Square! Here’s what you can expect in the coming days and weeks as staff and clients get settled in:

  • Many of the team members who will call our Shaker Square office home – Billie, Latonya, Sheri, Marci, Victoria, MK, Carol Ann and Bridget – have started unpacking their boxes there today.
  • Please note that this office has an activated alarm system that works differently than any other CRCC location. If you plan to be at this office after hours, please talk with Latonya to get instructions about how to disarm it. More info will be shared with staff as appropriate.
  • Starting next Tuesday, September 3rd, our team of Client Access Specialists will also be working at the Shaker Square office from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, answering calls, texts, chats and hospital calls from survivors at our office, rather than remotely.
  • Also starting next Tues, our clients will have an option to book appointments at this new office. We call this our “soft opening” while the team continues to work out every last detail required to make our clients’ experience at this new location the best that it can be.
  • A CRCC team is planning a VIP Grand Opening celebration on September 19 for our supporters, community partners, media, public officials and others. Another community celebration is planned for early October. More details to come. Our public press release about the new office will be timed with these celebrations.

This new office has been nearly 2 years in the making – starting with employee feedback into our strategic planning process, to grant application writing early last year, to a cross-department team searching for the perfect location, to the direct services team giving input on artwork, to the community outreach and engagement teams building as much positive momentum as possible before we open our doors. The Access to Care team epitomizes this type of cross-department collaboration, which will indeed enhance the quality of services that we provide to survivors. THANK YOU to each of you who has been involved in setting us up for success in this new office.

It is wonderful to celebrate the grand opening of this new space, but we know that success will never be measured by the number of new offices we open or operate. Success for CRCC is measured by the care and compassion that we share with each survivor and by ensuring that our services are available to all survivors in a way that honors their culture, religion, race, gender identity, life circumstances and more. I believe that our new office is a means to help us get even closer to that goal, but that each of us is responsible for bringing that goal to life in our day-to-day interactions with our clients and each other.

Exploring the Possibility of a Near-West Office

On the heels of the Shaker Square excitement, I want to remind you that we are continuing to explore the option of opening another new office on the near-west side in 2020. The decision-making process has continued and October 1 is an important milestone for us. I expect to have more information to share with you at that time.

If you have any questions about our new offices, please do not hesitate to reach out to your supervisor or me.

To our Shaker Square team: Welcome Home!
