The Intersections of Sex Trafficking and Substance Use

A training for professionals who work with survivors of trafficking.

This training gives a basic introduction of the topics of sex trafficking and substance use while exploring the intersection between the two topics. The information presented seeks to challenge provider bias, reduce stigma, provide accurate information regarding trafficking, and inform attendees about useful resources and helpful tips for working with survivors of trafficking.

CEUs are available for Counselors and Social Workers.

Training objectives: 

  • Increased knowledge of sex trafficking, including risk factors, statistics, and resources for survivors
  • Increased understanding of the complex nature of substance use and treatment approaches
  • Increased understanding of the intersections of sex trafficking and substance use
