In March, the YWCA of Greater Cleveland launched their 21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge. Each weekday, participants received an email filled with resources to dive deep into a variety racial and social justice issues. The challenge invited folks to discover how these issues impact our community and to identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination.
The current health crisis is shedding light on a variety of serious systemic issues and inequalities in our country, and it is increasingly important to continue these discussions. Even though we cannot get together for an in-person discussion, the Social Justice Committee and Equity & Inclusion Council are eager to keep the conversations going.
Over the next few weeks, members of the SJC and E&I Council will be highlighting several of the topics from the 21-Day Challenge. We’ll share our thoughts and experiences, and reflect on how these issues impact our work and community at Cleveland Rape Crisis Center.
We hope you’ll follow along and share your insights, as well! Keep an eye out for additional ways to engage over these important topics.
